Политика за децата

Introduction

Raketa Foundation believes that every child has the right to safety, respect, protection, and development in an environment free from violence, neglect, exploitation, and discrimination. We are committed to upholding the rights and dignity of all children and young people we work with—directly or indirectly—and to contributing to the creation of safe and supportive communities.

This policy outlines our principles, standards, and procedures for child and youth safeguarding in the activities of the Foundation.

Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to:

  • all employees of Raketa Foundation (on employment or civil contracts);

  • all volunteers, interns, consultants, and subcontractors;

  • all partners and organizations we collaborate with on projects and initiatives involving children or youth.

Everyone involved in the activities of the Foundation has a personal responsibility to be familiar with and adhere to the principles and procedures outlined in this safeguarding policy.

Principles

  • Zero tolerance for all forms of violence, exploitation, discrimination, and abuse of children and youth.

  • Legal compliance with Bulgarian and international child protection laws.

  • Respect for dignity, rights, and personal space of every child.

  • Best interest of the child is a primary consideration in every situation.

  • Prevention through education, awareness, and the creation of a safe environment.

Prevention and Training

  • All employees and volunteers of the Foundation receive an introductory training on child safeguarding upon joining.

  • Regular refresher trainings are provided in line with current standards and best practices.

  • Each new project involving children is assessed for risks, and appropriate safeguarding measures are applied.

Reporting Procedures

Anyone—whether staff member or external participant—who witnesses or suspects abuse or risk to a child is required to immediately notify the designated Safeguarding Officer in the organization.

Reports can be submitted through the following channels:

  • Email: raketafoundation@gmail.com

  • Phone: +359 888 505 774

Reports will be handled confidentially within 5 working days, and appropriate actions will be taken, including notifying the competent authorities where necessary.

Data Protection

Raketa Foundation ensures the confidentiality of personal data related to children, families, and all associated individuals in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national legislation. Data is collected and used solely for the purposes of project implementation and service provision and is stored securely for the required period.

Responsibilities

  • The Foundation’s leadership is responsible for implementing and updating this policy.

  • Every team member is responsible for reporting any irregularities and adhering to the code of conduct.

  • The Designated Safeguarding Officer oversees the execution of this policy and coordinates responses to reports.
